Love Potion | Perfume Review – Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie

I was directed over here from another (commercial) perfume blog. Someone mentioned a company with 10 new perfumes a month and I thought..."No way! Surely I am being punked!" I raced over to LPMP right quick and never returned to the other blog. I was absolutely mesmerized by the beautiful artwork and fascinating stories of the August 2010 "Campfire Tales." I also never went back to any of my commercial perfumes after receiving my monthly sample pack! I had never experienced artisan perfumes before and I cannot express how they have enriched my life. My first LP love was Marigold and Amaranth. I had been dealing with "Broken Heart Depression" for exactly a year when I discovered these perfumes and nothing could really excite me. I'll never forget how I felt after slathering this on and inhaling it. It absolutely blossomed on my skin and simply made me instantly happy. I couldn't get over it, as I hadn't felt that way in a while. When I found out about pheromones I thought surely this scent had some in it but ....no! This is when I realized how effective the magickal ingredients of these oils really are. The notes in Marigold and Amaranth point towards happiness and healing a broken heart. Even though I have collected an astonishing number (for me anyway!) of these treasures I still go to this one when I feel a sad day coming on. I find very little time to get down however, as I am usually too busy sampling Lp's, putting together an order in my head, waiting for a package or reading the forum. I love flowery and fruity scents most but have also come to appreciate the foodie scents. There just is never telling what I am going to like with these oils which is why the monthly sampler is mandatory for me. I read the descriptions and try to pick what I will love or dislike and I am quite consistently wrong! But that is the fun of looking forward to the monthly surprise in the mail! So far the ones I like best are Marigold and A (of course), Unwrapped, Kiss of Magic, LAM Pink Amber, Special Delivery, OCCO Blue...and most recently Butterfly Kisses and Girlie Twirly... but I've been wearing a lot of OCCO White under Sparkle Fuchsia lately... I guess it is silly to claim I have favorites when they change every day. Thank you Mara and John and everyone at LPMP for helping me find my happy spirit again!
