The most adorable divination potion ever! In our cauldron we began with wormwood’s powers of clairvoyance and then charged it with the metaphysically resonant aspects of amber EO for love and luck, benzoin for astral projection, dragon’s blood for power and protection, and labdanum for invocation, all enfolded within the deep spiritual atmospheric of sandalwood. We then gave it generous bright splashes of ghost welcoming lemon and friendly love drawing strawberry. Enliven those sweet sympathetic vibrations at your next seance!
Madame Helene was a most singular medium in that every seance she held was rather more like a tea party. Even as the spirits could not ingest or imbibe the treats she laid out on her sideboard, she opined that the ambience a good cup of tea and some cake could provide would put them in a far better mood to commune with us. I laughed to think that spirits, now removed from the cares of this mortal coil, could be said to have moods but she assured me it was so.
“They are so close to us as to feel our vibrations even now, as we might feel theirs if we so align our sensitivities to them, you see.”
As she had once brought back my grandmother to tell me where I might find the heirloom china I feared she had hid away in a fit of forgetfulness, I had no reason to doubt Madame Helene’s acumen in these matters.
“We need not fear the spirit world, dear ones,” she intoned at every gathering. “Those who have passed over are still full of the love and care they once expressed here in this world, and if we show them we cherish them still, they will in turn reach out with their most felicitous manner.”
I do believe she has channeled the most friendly ghosts for us to talk to, even as some of them may be a shade too talkative. My aunt Veranice, for example, kept us for several hours one afternoon as she recited the history of the family’s fortunes. And now everyone in town has heard that my cousin Edgar was known to run through the streets in a full suit of armor. As I never knew him I am at a loss to explain his actions, naturally, much less how an individual can even move swiftly in such a contraption! But odd revelations aside I would never decline an opportunity to abide with the dearly departed, especially in such a sympathetic atmosphere...
