Moon of the Falling Leaves

Created as an Autumnal evocation of the famed forests of Washington State, our very own Le Wizard has blended the perfect scent of a rainy day in the woods: watery accords with a wide range of woods – from cedar to a canopy of evergreens – over fallen leaves and acorns. This is a unisex scent but on the more masculine side: woodsy and fresh.

Within the cloak of night
the beacon of the moon reveals
in silvery shafts between the limbs
the secret dance of colors as the trees
shed their finery to prepare
for another mantle
cold and austere
but no less beautiful.

In the Native American mythology of the Chippewa tribe, the lunar cycle between September and October is known as the Moon of the Falling Leaves, for the trees unable to remain awake for seven days and seven nights were cursed to shed their leaves...as only those known as "evergreen" obeyed the edict. This moon illuminates the final efforts of hunting and harvesting in order to prepare for the long winter to come.
