She felt she had finally grown up, somehow...traveling to the bohemian quarter downtown, among the dramatic, the creative, and the merely mad. The shops and clubs were compelling locales to spend an afternoon, but her favorite place was Le Café Encens, the coffee shop which was known for serving whatever one wished...no questions asked. She would observe from the shadows as lovers cooed and clutched at one another, poets scribbled in notebooks, artists sketched the denizens, and musicians strummed guitars and gave voice to haunting songs.
